I was born and raised in central Texas in the Wellborn area and graduated from Lincoln High School in College Station Texas in 1962. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and attended Recruit Training at Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. In 1963 I attended Engineering Class A School at Naval Training Center (Great Lakes) in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1965 I enrolled in the Navy Education Program for the U.S. Navy Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program with Engineering Studies at Texas Technological College at Lubbock, Texas in 1966, which later became Texas Tech University. My course of study also included the specified Naval Regulations curriculum at Fort Ord, California. In 1968 my graduation culminated with a Bachelor of Science (BS): Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree and promotion to Engineering Duty Officer (EDO) as an Limited Duty Officer (LDO). I also attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1981 in a course of study for the Navy military research in Gas Turbine technology analyses required to duplicate/reproduce an OEM part by reverse engineering. My assignments included various Naval vessels as Engineering Officer and Type Desk Officer for the Navy’s new Gas Turbine-driven ships at Commander Naval Surface Forces, Norfolk, Virginia.
I’m a Retired U.S. Navy and U.S. Government Civil Servant who worked in Engineering Field for a total of thirty-five years of combined service. In 2002, I obtained an Applied Science Degree in Legal Assisting (Magna Cum Laude) from Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, Virginia. During the timeframe of 2003 -2006, I worked in a prestigious Law Firm in Virginia Beach, Virginia, performing Legal Research Assistant duties and discovered and confirmed information relevant to seventy-three (73) plus court cases. Additionally, I worked as Attorney Assistant to nine (9) Attorneys and participated in 100 plus Civil and Criminal cases that involved three hundred-twenty (320) plus depositions and sixty-five (65) legal meetings. I routinely performed administrative duties, such as preparing official legal documents and maintaining records.
I returned home to College Station, Texas on May 2011. I Joined Wellborn Community Baptist Church in Wellborn, Texas in 2012, where Reverend John W. Lott, Jr. is Pastor and served as a member of the Usher Board until 2013. I transferred my membership to Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas where Pastor Elder Herschel Goodman was Pastor until April 2013 when Relieved by Pastor Anthony D. Hill. I served as a member of the Deacon Board, Board of Trustees. Sunday School Secretary, and Church Clerk until 2017. Currently seeking membership at Grace Church in College Station, Texas.
